Our Story

My name is Shawn Foucault, and I am the owner of Safety 1st Traffic Control. Since 1980, I have been an above-the-knee amputee and have been providing flagging services since 1995.  

In 2008, I founded Safety 1st Traffic Control. We started with just three team members, and within three months, our crew grew to twelve. We intentionally keep our company small to maintain a personal, family-oriented atmosphere. Safety 1st has a remarkably low staff turnover rate, with only 16 dedicated employees. Despite our size, we bring a combined total of approximately 150 years of experience in the flagging services industry, with 90 of those years spent at Safety 1st. I work full-time in the field alongside our fantastic staff to demonstrate that we are united as a team. I want them to know that I have their backs, and they have mine. Together, we continue to deliver exceptional traffic control services, equipped with trucks that have all necessary signs and equipment, complying with all regulations, and featuring mounted and mobile work lights for 24-hour-a-day service.
